LEVEL 3 IVQ ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN OIL & GAS OPERATIONS
Think Plus Consulting Sdn Bhd is an Approved Centre for City and Guilds Certification (Aprroved Centre No: 809748) and we are qualified to administer and manage the implementation of the Level 3 IVQ Advanced Diploma in Oil and Gas Operations (8510). There are 4 pathways program that we are offering to candidates.

Our City and Guilds Approved Centre for assessing candidate's Plant Operations is at University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). UTHM has got a running plant operations that are equipped for candidates to learn, practice and also pass their assessments as required by the City and Guilds Course. You may not need to come to class or labs too many times, unless instructed by the Trainer/Assessor.
The four (4) pathways available to be offered to candidates, depending on candidate requirements and experience. This program is suitable to candidate who are new to Oil and Gas especially to Refinery and Petrochemical Plant Operations. For new or fresh candidates in oil and gas, they have to attend the program as Full-time. It can also be offered to Experience and Working candidate who has got the experience in the Oil and Gas sector. Experience and working candidates can attend the program as Part-time.
PART-TIME PROGRAM

For Experience and Working candidates in Oil and Gas.

The course program can be customized and the coursework time can be reduced from 6 months to 3 months (depending on candidates capability to complete the portfolio)

No need for On the Job Training (OJT) as candidate is already working.

The course program learning time can be only reduced once the trainer/assessor agreed to discuss with candidate on what he has already leant and what he has not. This is what is called as GAP ANALYSIS.

Current and Past working experience are accredited back into the learning hours.

In other words, candidate only need to attend class, lab and Training plant as determined by the trainer/assesor depending on case by case basis.

In UK, it is popularly known as Accredited of Prior Learning (APL) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
What makes C&G Level 3 IVQ Advanced Diploma in Oil and Gas Operations Different from Other Courses?

Trainers are industrial experience and they will be sharing their 25 to 30 years life experience in the real plant into the classroom, lab and Plant. It’s not Trainers from Academic.

Candidates are given to take a role and lead the Plant Operations (based on your choice of Discipline).

Candidates are given the opportunity to compile evidence and portfolio report writing just like in the real life Plant Experience.

Candidates CV shall be given to companies in advance for review for Hiring and also for the On the Job Training, as your qualifications are what most companies are looking for.
FULL-TIME PROGRAM

For New or Fresh candidates in Oil and Gas.

The course program is 6 months course work and 6 months On the Job Training (OJT) - Total of 12 Months program.
What Makes Advanced Diploma Unique?

It’s the Real Plant Experience.

The learning experience will be the same as when you work in either Refinery, Petrochemical or Offshore Plant Operations. You will then know what the requirements of production and process job function as in the working environment.

At present, there is no Public course for International Certification on Advanced Diploma for Oil and Gas Operations relating to Plant experience for all the 4 courses in Malaysia and Asia.

This City and Guilds Level 3 IVQ Advanced Diploma for Oil and Gas Operations is Your Real Life Plant Experience and to gain knowledge of a working environment.

Only candidate with Diploma or Degree are suitable to take this Advanced Diploma Course, as candidate need to be fully aware on the safety and the knowledge base before they can operate and maintain the plant experience.

Candidate with certificates are only allowed if they have many years of experience related to the Oil and Gas sector.
FAQ
What is the meaning of full time/part time?
The course can be taken as Full Time or Part time.
1. Full time course will be suitable for Fresh Graduates or for people who are No Experience in Oil and Gas. There have to complete the full credit hours to be in the classroom and in the Training Plant.
2. Part Time course is more suitable for candidates who are working or have experience with Oil and Gas, but they need to show proof to the Trainer/Assessor that they have got their knowledge and experiences from the working environment or company. They need to complete their work portfolio or show proof that they have done that portfolio before.
If you are interested to do the Part Time course, then Think Plus shall make an arrangement for you to meet with Trainer/Assessor via face to face or by SKYPE for evaluation on GAP ANALYSIS and to justify the number of credit hours that you need to take to complete the course work within the 6 months period. The Part Time course is called Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Both Part Time and Full Time candidates shall get the same certificate on Advance Diploma. The only difference is on the time spend with the Trainer/ Assessor and the time taken to complete the work portfolio. Assessor and External Verifier will confirmed via final assessment.
When can the meeting with Trainers/Assessors be Held?
The arrangement to meet the Trainers/Assessor shall be done by Think Plus at any time via face to face or via skype. All you need to confirmed your interest to meet and talk to Trainer/Assessor.
Where shall the meeting to meet the potential candidates be held?
We shall have the face to face meeting in Kuala Lumpur at Bandar Sri Damansara. If not, it can be done via Skype. All this meeting is for record purposes as it’s a requirement by City and Guilds Administration.
Where shall Level 3 IVQ course be held?
The Full Time course will be conducted at University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), as we have a running training plant to show you the integrated learning for 4 disciplines (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process maintenance operations). For Part Time Candidates, the number of contact hours with the Trainer/Assessor shall be confirmed by the Trainer/Assesor.
When can I start the course?
For Part Time candidates, the Program can start in January/March/July/Sep and they can finished earlier than other candidates as each candidate is different based on case by case basis. Admission Fee (RM 5,000.00) shall be paid first for Candidate Registration Number issued by City and Guilds (UK). Payment for Course Program must be done in full before candidate can start their meeting with Trainer/Assessor in Kuala Lumpur or at UTHM. For full time candidates, the intake is Jan & July every year.

Where can I work with this Advanced Diploma?
Having an Advanced Diploma in Oil and Gas under City and Guilds will make you have the competency passport to enter into oil and gas, in the local and international companies, especially in Refinery and Petrochemical Plants. When we say international, it means you can extend your job marketability to Middle East and also Europe.
Where shall the OJT be held?
For working candidates in already Oil and Gas company, there is no need for 6 months OJT. If you are not working in Oil and Gas company, then Think Plus shall send you to another Oil and Gas Company or UTHM Plant for a short period for the evaluation on your capabilities and proof of evidence that you can do the required task.
If you are not working, then we shall find a company that are willing to take you on the OJT program or to UTHM Plant and we shall send the Assessor for the evaluation on your capabilities and proof of evidence that you can do the required task.
Hopefully, if you do a good job during the OJT, that company can hire you directly.
What is the Free Structure for the Level 3 IVQ Course (Any Discipline).
The Fee for Full Time Course is RM39,000.00 for 6 months course + 6 months OJT.
The Fee for Part Time course is RM22,000 and shall depend on the evaluation of the Trainers/Assessors on how many contact hours that you need to take to be with Trainer/Assessor.
Is there any payment by the company during the 6 months OJT?
If the company is agreeable to allow you to do OJT for 6 months and be part of their team, then they may give you some benefits (salary or allowances).
If the company is agreeable to only allow you to do OJT only for a short period (only for assessment), then they might not give you the benefits (salary or allowances).

We can only give you the support letter for your application from Think Plus and UTHM and you can provide your Acceptance letter and Registration Number as your evidence.
